Journalists from around the world are at Dolby today to take a closer look at the science and engineering we do to help creative professionals bring their artistic vision to life on any device, anywhere, whether movies, TV shows, video games, or music.
Our guests will spend much of the day inside the Dolby screening room, which is a lab in itself. Constructed to be fully isolated from external sources of noise (important, given our urban San Francisco location), the screening room is equipped with state-of-the-art Dolby® Atmos™ playback and high frame rate 3D. It’s also specially designed—from the walls to the upholstered seats—to be able to represent not only the ideal, but also a range of variations in acoustic conditions and considerations.
Lab Notes will feature insights from Dolby speakers Poppy Crum, Senior Staff Scientist, Technology Strategy; and Brett Crockett, Senior Director, Research Sound Technology. In the meantime, check out our guests’ agenda and follow the action live on Twitter #DolbyAtTheLabs
